£50 will enable us to purchase adapted tools so that children and disabled people can get digging in the Community Garden 

£100 will help us to run a family activity day that brings the Palace’s fascinating history to life for children and their parents 

£200 will help us provide training for the 300 dedicated volunteers who give up their time to be guides, archivists and gardeners

£1,000 will allow us to conserve and re-frame the famous Coronation Cope worn by successive Bishop’s for the Monarch’s coronation

£2,000 will help pay for a season’s worth of planting for the beautiful gardens

£5,000 will allow us to organise a project with local young people to enable them to curate their own exhibition within the Palace 

£15,000 will enable us to purchase UV filters and sun blinds for the interior of the Palace so that we can protect and conserve a unique Collection that includes 16th century furniture, Victorian portraits, textiles and modern treasures

£25,000 will help us install a natural play area in the Palace arboretum, providing children with a dedicated space and area to roam free and re-enact their own medieval adventures

£46,000 will pay for a year’s worth of maintenance costs that ensure that the fabric of the Palace is looked after for future generations to enjoy 

£100,000 will help us restore stonework on the medieval ramparts so that they are safe for visitors to climb and explore

£250,000 will enable us to undertake essential repair work on the medieval Great Hall that takes centre stage within this historic site

Make a donation

We rely on voluntary donations to enable us to undertake the wide variety of activities and work that make the Palace such a unique and rewarding place.  You can make donation of any size online through VirginMoney, or by sending a cheque, payable to The Palace Trust, to The Bishops Palace, Wells, Somerset, BA5 2PD.  If there is a particular area of our work that you would like to support please do let us know.  You can download a donation form here, which will allow you to make a gift aid declaration and we will receive an extra 25% from Government.
