Egyptian Goose ( Alopochen aegyptiacus )

Wednesday the 12th of January 2005 saw an Egyptian Goose visiting the moat. The visitor appear quite tame and fed readily amongst the Swans and Ducks.

The Egyptian Goose is an introduced African species, now with well established feral populations chiefly in East Anglia, although I expect this one has visited from a location nearer to the Bishop's Palace.
