Safeguarding our Gardens

 
In November we launched our very first Winter Appeal. All funds raised will go towards maintaining and developing our glorious 14 acres of gardens at The Bishop’s Palace.

Over the winter months our Head Gardener James Cross and his small team will be out in the gardens in all weathers, working hard to ensure that the grounds are prepared so that the gardens are ready to impress and inspire our visitors next year.
 
It costs us in the region of half a million pounds every year just to keep the Palace open to the public and operational. Any new projects or developments require additional funds. In 2012 we estimate that we will spend around £43,000 on the gardens, including paying for labour, tools, equipment and materials, as well as training for our apprentice gardener and volunteers.

Any gift you can make would be gratefully received and will go directly towards safeguarding our gardens for you and many more people to enjoy.
