Visitor income, venue hire, catering and events cover only 60% of our annual costs. As a charity, we rely on donations and legacies to look after The Bishop’s Palace and keep it open to the public.

Your support is crucial
Since 1968 the Bishop’s Palace has been looked after by The Palace Trust, a small registered charity that is responsible for the upkeep, development and sustainable future of this 800 year old site. Every year it costs the charity half a million pounds to look after the Palace and maintain the gardens, as well as keep it open to the public. At the same time we have to raise money to undertake new projects and develop existing activities such as our outreach work with families, school children and the local community.
