Campaign Director
A brand new opportunity within Heritage Fundraising in Somerset
Location: Wells (a home based position is negotiable for the right candidate)
Salary: Competitive
Position Type: Fixed term for two years
The Bishop's Palace and Gardens has been home to the Bishop of Bath and Wells for over 800 years and continues to function as a working building at the heart of the diocese and the wider community. The site is also an important tourist destination within the City of Wells.
The Trustees are now embarking on one of the most ambitious projects in the Palace's history. The new project will make a significant difference in improving access to and understanding about the magnificent historic building. To realise this ambition, the Trustees are now seeking to recruit a Campaign Director to achieve the fundraising target of £2 million.
Representing The Palace Trust at a senior level, the Campaign Director will provide effective leadership and innovative strategic direction for the fundraising activities of the Trust, thereby delivering maximum fundraising performance.
The ideal candidate will have:
a proven track record of fundraising / development management within a heritage project
a comprehensive knowledge of fundraising opportunities in the heritage sector
considerable strategic planning and organisational skills
significant interpersonal, presentation and negotiation skills in order to persuade and influence at decision making levels.
